How to set up team leads as approvers

Updated over 2 months ago

Scopes are made up of scope rules

If a request matches any scope rule in a scope, all approvers of that scope will receive a notification (see diagram below).

If an identical scope rule is defined in two (or more) scopes, the approvers of both scopes will receive notifications.

John, Jane, Bob, and Beth will all get notifications for any request that matches any of scope rules A, B, C and D. This is because both scopes have an identical scope rule A.

How to set up team leads as approvers

Currently, there is no way to ensure that team leads receive notifications only for requests from their team members.

We are planning to release the following related features which will give you better control:

  • Scoping by Principal: the ability to limit scopes to only specific Principals.

  • Notifications settings: users will be able to set what notifications they want to receive, and how to receive them (Slack, Teams, email).

  • Unified notifications: users will receive unified notifications for requests submitted together in a bundle/ approved together.
