Granular Access Control for Postgres and AWS EC2

  • Control access down to specific schemas/ tables/ views in your PostgreSQL databases.

  • Manage access to specific AWS EC2 instances, and allow users easy SSH and RDP connections directly to these instances.

  • For each resource level, control whether or not users can request access to all sub-resources (for example, projects in a GCP folder, or namespaces in a Kubernetes cluster, etc).

PostgreSQL granularity

  • Create Axiom scopes for any level: databases, schemas, tables, or view.

  • Users can then request access up to the scoping level.

EC2 Remote Connect

  • Create Axiom scopes for individual EC2 instances, groups of EC2s, or all EC2s in an AWS account.

  • Users who are granted access through Axiom can easily SSH to the EC2, by pressing the Connect button on their approved Axiom request.

  • Note: requires AWS Systems Manager (SSM) Agent on the EC2 instance.

Better Axiom scopes

  • A friendlier, redesigned scopes page.

  • Control over whether scope includes sub-resources (e.g. Azure subscription in a management group, AWS accounts in an organization, etc.)

  • Include multiple permissions in one scoping rule.

Note

In order to enjoy these new features:

  1. If you are running your own Axiom Runner, update the Axiom Runner to the latest version.

  2. Initiate a manual scan of your AWS/ PostgreSQL integrations (or wait for the next scheduled scan).

  3. For EC2 Remote Connect, you also need to update the IAM policy, as detailed here.
